Richard J. Luschek 3416 Cornell Place Cincinnati,Ohio 45220 e-mail: richard@richardluschek.com 513-479-3322After graduating from the University of Cincinnati with Bachelor's degrees in both Biology and Fine Arts, Richard Luschek was fortunate enough to find Paul Ingbretson Studio of Drawing and Painting located in Manchester, New Hampshire. Mr. Ingbretson is a modern master of the Boston School tradition, was a student of the late R. H. Ives Gammell. With a legacy that passes through the Boston School back to French Academic painting this training gives a foundation of time-honored techniques that is a wonderful mix of solid academic drawing fused with beautifully seen impressionistic color. Emphasis is placed upon accurate drawing with sensitivity to form and edges, brilliant light effects, vibrant color, and overall unity. With a solid classical background of Boston School training, Richard has recently returned home from his studies and has just set up a beautiful north light studio. He is currently focusing on still life, finding that it is the best way to continue to explore and learn the lifelong pursuit of the technical aspects of painting and the serious study of nature. Fascinated with creating atmospheric scenes through thoughtful paint handling, Richard's still life objects must work together first in design and their color harmonies. Creating a powerful image with pleasing abstractions is just as important as the subject. Mr. Luschek has taught community education classes at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and is currrently teaching privately in his studio. Richard has worked as a scenic artist at the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park and also was trained as a cabinetmaker. His pen and ink illustrations have appeared in numerous publications. Mr. Luschek has works in private collections on the East Coast and in Cincinnati. |
